Curriculum Notes Throughout the Course

-          When scaffolding a curriculum, it helps to introduce new artists at each step to enrich the experience
-          How to deal with concerned parents and higher ups when dealing with complex issues?
-          Game Pedagogy, children enjoy playing games
-          When are students "too young" to be taught about social issues in classrooms? Is there even a limit?  
  • [Seems like it depends on when THEY bring it up, regardless of age. They also don't need to have a complex answer]
-          Having a Big Idea that is supported by parents and the school board often helps to build credibility
-          Offering "parent's notes" on Google Classroom to explain what new projects are gonna be focused on
-          School size and # of students per year can make a difference in how teachers teach
-          Assessment: The process, seeing a student's existing knowledge
     - "Alternative":
     - "Authentic": Being authentic to the discipline, getting at the kind of learning that we want to                                      teach
     - "Didactic (Teaching)": Helping students make new connections
     - "Formative": [Form] looking at the process and the work put in over the final piece
     - "Summative": [Sum of all] evaluates the final work, looks @ final piece
     - "Dynamic": teach, test (reassess progress), re-teach (
ALL of this relates to Learning Objectives
     - Controversial Debate: Do they need to be stated up front or formed over the time with the class?
     - "What questions do we see as most valuable?"
-          Evaluation: Judgment of value

Music as a means of transition between areas in a classroom
classroom engagement (management): ways for students to pay attention while still doing their work
     - "hey mona, hey lisa"
     - letting students know where to go so they conduct themselves and do their own
     - allows students to be motivated and self motivate

recording videos outlining steps of creating something (perspective from PF): Who benefits from the video, the students or the teacher?
     - Could be boring for students if the videos are very structured and don't offer much room for personal growth
     -
